Following her grandmother's footsteps, Mrs. Janique Thomas finished her college degree in 2002 with a nursing care diploma and cherished the ambition to enlarge the nursing profession possibilities. While working evening shifts as a nurse, she carried on her studies at Sherbrooke University and obtained in 2006 her Bachelor degree in nursing care sciences.
During her university studies, Mrs. Thomas had the opportunity to participate to a five-week humanitarian training course in Senegal in Africa which further established her need to help others and to share her knowledge. She then found her career purpose and focused on communities and public health.
She has known since then that home care was the path she wanted to follow. That is why she worked seven years in public health care and touched different areas like home care, vaccination, and finally wound care in ambulatory clinics. She rapidly discovered that wound care captivated her, so she had training to perfect her knowledge and refine her techniques in that field. Adding to her work experience, she has also taught nursing care as well as worked in nursing first line private care.
After giving birth to her two beautiful children, she decided to combine all of her passions: the affection for her patients, the great interest in wound and nursing home care and the love for feet.
She is a member of l'Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec (OIIQ), of l'Association des infirmières et infirmiers en soins de pieds du Québec (AIISPQ) and of l'Association des naturopathes du Québec (ANQ).
